Biography:

Jonathan Spergel is a partner with Manko, Gold, Katcher & Fox LLP. He handles a wide variety of environmental issues, including the environmental aspects of commercial transactions and brownfields sites, public funding opportunities for brownfields sites, regulatory compliance counseling, and litigation for commercial, industrial, residential, and individual clients. From September 2001 to February 2003, Jonathan served as general counsel of O'Neill Properties, where he helped to coordinate all legal and environmental services, public funding, and government affairs for the company. He has authored a number of articles on environmental issues and frequently lectures for various groups and organizations.

Jonathan currently serves as the chairman of the board of the Lower Merion Conservancy, where he has been a board member since 2004. He was previously a member of the Board of Trustees of Riverbend Environmental Education Center, located in Gladwyne, Pennsylvania, from 1996 to 2002. He served as president of Riverbend's Board from August 2000 to December 2001, and as treasurer from January to December 2002.

 

Jonathan was previously selected as one of the 2005 "Pennsylvania Lawyers on the Fast Track" by American Lawyer Media, as well as a 2005 "Pennsylvania Super Lawyers Rising Star." He has been listed in Chambers USA - America's Leading Lawyers for Business and the Best Lawyers® in America, under the specialty of environmental law, since 2007. In addition, Jonathan previously served as editor of the quarterly newsletter of the Pennsylvania Bar Association's Environmental, Mineral, and Natural Resources Law Section.
